In the months following the 1906 earthquake and fire, we built 5,610 tiny houses to shelter 16,448 San Franciscans made homeless. We propose to build 2,000 similar houses and place one on every city block to house that portion of our current homeless population who are willing and able to care for themselves and to adopt-the-block that their house in located in.
